BIG CAT on the PROWL: FISHGUARD SIGHTING!

(c) The Paranormal Chronicles – Source: G.Ryan

The Paranormal Chronicles has received a new report of one of Pembrokeshire’s most famous creatures:  The Big Cat. Has this enigmatic beast been on the prowl, feeding before the autumn and winter months? One local believes that he has had a close encounter with the beast.

Mr. G.Ryan contacted us with what he believes to be a sighting in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.

On the 12th August 2019, I was with my friend Dale in Fishguard taking a late-night walk down the coastal path.  We saw a big black animal walking away from the pathway. With our lights on, we saw yellow eyes staring back at us. My friend thought the best option was to walk towards it so we did and it went into the overgrowth that was by a Cove by the sea. The following day we went to the cove again and saw what we thought were dog paw prints but I now think this was a panther as the eyes were big and quite far apart. There was a panther sighting in Haverfordwest in April which isn’t too far away from Fishguard . Locals can now be aware.

This follows on from a report we received and published in April 2019.

A lady and her partner were walking taking a stroll through clay lanes and on towards Haroldston woods on the evening of Thursday 4th April 2019 when they had this peculiar experience.

I would like to anonymously report what I believe to be sightings on the Clay Lane, Haverfordwest. This is my own sighting and it was not exactly on the Clay Lane but on the road towards Haroldston Church. It was night time and it was dark and I was with my partner walking my dog. We had walked all the way to the end of the road by the entrance to Little Milford woods and were now on our way back. Somewhere near the entrance to the lane which leads down to Haroldston Church, I saw what appeared to be the shadowy form of a large black cat (panther not domestic) crossing the road ahead of us before disappearing. I was sure I saw this but my partner said he did not and my dog who is only a puppy did not act in any way unusual. However, the experience left me feeling uneasy and forced me to cling tight to my boyfriends arm and consistently look over my shoulder throughout the remaining time of our walk.

The Pembrokeshire Big cat(s) has been spotted for years in such locations as Neyland, Johnston, Tiers cross to name but a few. Though the creature may not be a cryptid in terms of a paranormal origin, the cats are not indigenous to the local environment.

It was believed that wild animals began appearing in the United Kingdom after the introduction of the Exotic, dangerous and wild animals license. The Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 aimed to ensure that where private individuals kept dangerous wild animals, they did so in circumstances which created no risk to the public and which safeguard the welfare of the animals. As a result, many owners could not guarantee that the law would be upheld and simply let their animals free into the British countryside.

Many people believe that the big cats bred with wild feral cats to create a hybrid British big cat which acclimatized to our British environment. However, some sightings suggest that the big cats were closer in size to the wild cats such as Pumas and Panthers as opposed to the household domesticated variety.

Though these creatures pose no immediate threat there have been some incidents reported of attacks. In 2000 an 11-year-old boy in Monmouthshire was attacked by what he claims was a large black cat. It left him with five long claw marks across his left cheek. The police called in a big cat expert to investigate the incident.

episode 5

In 2005 a man who lived in Sydenham Park in south-east London was attacked in his back garden, which backed onto a railway line. The man who was 6 ft (1.8 m) and weighed 15 stone (210 lb; 95 kg) described the cat as being a big black figure that pounced on him and was considerably stronger than he was. He was left with scratches all over his body. Police were called and according to the BBC, one police officer saw a cat the size of a Labrador dog.

The Pembrokeshire Big cat though elusive does warrant further investigation. The Paranormal Chronicles founder and bestselling author G.L. Davies has asked that anyone that does investigate the sightings to please be careful, do not attempt to entrap the creature and please keep your animals safe while venturing into areas where the sightings are said to have occurred. Who knows what is prowling our Pembrokeshire fields and woods so please be careful out there.

Clay Lane in Pembrokeshire is fast becoming one of the most paranormal active sights in Wales. Dozens of accounts reach The Paranormal Chronicles office of bizarre sights and sightings on a regular basis.

Many people think of this as nothing but overactive imaginations as they have walked this quiet road for decades and experienced nothing yet many feel the fear as they journey down this quiet lane.

We received this report on the lane that made a young couple quite unsettled by their baffling experience:

It happened last night 2nd April when we were walking my dog in the dark. We were heading down the clay lane. We had reached the 90-degree bend which heads down the hill toward the small bridge over the river and here we had stopped and been having a debate, mild dispute. My boyfriend was telling me to be quiet and I thought that he was being a bit rude. He kept persisting though until he declared that he wanted to give his full attention to what he had seen. It transpired that he had seen a shadowy form passing behind me and could hear a mild clicking sound that resembled a bicycle. It was very dark and he was trying to focus on what he could see/hear but I was totally unaware that this was the reason he wanted me to stop talking. He was sure there was someone who passed behind me but was baffled by where this person had gone and claimed that he must have lost his focus and that the person must have disappeared into the night. My boyfriend is very sceptical but appeared a little baffled by his eerie experience.

Now this story may not seem to be peculiar on the first inspection but in 2002 a man claimed he had seen a strange blurry dark creature run past him which made a clacking sound not far from this very location. What is happening in Clay lane? What is behind these strange noises and sightings.

Maybe there is a rational explanation? Could it be something like Gas from the sewage works or gas created by the swampland around the brook and river may be responsible, possibly its all fueled by the power of suggestion but so many reports have been documented that it has become impossible to ignore that people are seeing things that are genuinely worrying them

Do you believe in Ghosts? Haverfordwest haunting shocks world!

Can they interact with ordinary people in the most destructive ways possible? Our science tells us that we should not believe in such things, that these events are simply rational events, explainable as misidentified occurrences or psychological afflictions.

One house in the sleepy county town of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, West Wales defies all rationale as a terrifying haunting has ripped apart the lives of many for decades, perhaps a century. The influence of the terror that lurks within those walls has been held accountable for depression, dependency, relationship breakdowns, and suicide attempts.

This ordinary house, nestled near the town center, has broken the lives of many and has a constant migration of new occupants as each one soon comes under the attack of a most sinister force.

G.L. Davies, bestselling author of A most haunted house and this new comprehensive account, Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest, lived in the abode briefly in 2003. His life was never the same again and he counts himself fortunate that he escaped the clutches of the house even though he emerged from its grasp dependent on alcohol and suffering all manner of mental maladies.

Ten years later, he wrote of his experiences in the worldwide number one bestselling account A most haunted house. A most haunted house defied sceptic and believer alike with its honest and emotional account of a prolific haunting coupled with a collapse into agonizing despair.

In 2017, having been sober for four years and an advocate for mental health support G.L.Davies once again (reluctantly) returned to the home and interviewed a couple who had lived in the same house from 1989 to 1991 and experienced the pure terror that takes hauntings to a new level of intensity.

This new book has shocked the paranormal community. Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest is the complete documentation of not only the haunting from the years 1989 to 1991 but G.L.Davies revisits his time at the house in 2003 along with presenting a forty page summary of possible explanations. This has been heralded as one of the most complete and comprehensive paranormal accounts in recent memory. Sceptic and believer are invited to join the investigation.

Dai and Anne, Pembrokeshire Locals bought the house in 1989 with prospects of starting a comfortable life together with dreams of nurturing a family. What occurred in that assuming house is the stuff of nightmares. Their ideal life turned into a nightmare with the conventional trapping of haunting, cold spots, footsteps, strange smells as the entity that lurked in the shadows began manifesting and mustering a most destructive energy.

Soon Anne was subjected to visions and nightmares where she would visit the home at the turn of the 19th century and witnessed the most horrendous acts of cruelty and depravity ( too graphic to discuss here) from the occupants that once inhabited that home. Were these dreams and visions merely that or was Anne somehow traveling back in time to witness the origin of the debase evil?

Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest is a scary and atmospheric read whether you’re a sceptic when it comes to the paranormal or not. It’s also perfect for this time of year when the nights are drawing in and getting progressively chiller. Written in the style of an interview it tells of the dark and disturbing events that took place in a house in West Wales, a house that the author has lived in and he adds his account to the narrative. Compelling and at times terrifying, don’t read this in the dark! You simply cannot go wrong if what you’re looking for is an intense and spooky story. Lou TOP 500 reviewer

Electrical appliances from the home began to malfunction and soon Dai and Anne were receiving communication from their radio set. After a prolonged attempt to dismiss the events as mere rational occurrences they admitted they were, in fact, communicating with an otherworldly being(s). Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest presents their findings as they recorded the voices from beyond and presents analysis on what may be happening.

Anne would be the victim of a vile paranormal assault as she lay asleep and as witnessed by her husband and soon the home began to divide them (As it did in A most haunted house) and pray upon their weaknesses.

Depression took over as the couple began to battle each other, accusations of affairs with family members, allegations that each other were attempting to fabricate the haunting to rid the other one of the home became common behaviour.

haunted post 1

It was not until the sighting of the Angry Man, a near 7-foot presence that would tear through the home in the most terrifying fashion did they pull together and attempt to act. They called upon the services of a well-known and trusted Medium who had been used by the church and the police, who visited the home to attempt a cleansing. The events documented the night of the cleansing broke her to the degree she quickly became ill and died. The medium confessed to her lifelong companion on her deathbed that the entity at the home was something beyond good and evil and that God had not created it and the Devil feared it. Diseased and broken the lady admitted that the house had stripped her of all her abilities and a fate worse than hell awaited her after death. She was terrified, she was afraid of what waited for her. She did not want to die.

What entity could cause such trauma?

Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest presents such incredible detail in the words of those that lived in that house. This is not exaggerated entertainment but the actual documentation of people who lived in that house. G.L. Davies delves deep into their testimonials bringing out all aspects of the haunting, big and small, from the mundane occurrence to the horrific encounters while giving insight into his experience.

Accounts like this have no happy endings with both occupants forced to leave the abode and carry the burden of the events there in secret for decades for fear of ridicule and contempt from the sceptical community that has no interest in actually trying to make sense of what happened in that house. Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest will satisfy the sceptic community by presenting a near forty-page summary for explanations from the mundane, to the phycological and to the arcane. This is as complete an account as any paranormal enthusiast could wish for.

Haunted Horror of Haverfordwest also includes a new edit of the bestselling A most haunted house in which G.L.Davies began his relationship with the paranormal. He now presents to you one of the most complete paranormal testimonials of the 21 century. His account is one of the blissful beginnings turning into a nightmare as he and his then-girlfriend are torn apart by the entity at the home. A most haunted house explored their experience of the Angry Man along with testimonials from friends and family that stayed there and witnessed the haunting. What did drive G.L. Davies into the state of depression, what is happening at that humble home in Haverfordwest?

Davies spent the last ten years convinced that there was a connection between mental health and the paranormal and even attempted to rationalise the events, looking into mobile communication technology that could cause phycological effects that would make a person perceive a haunting. However, he was soon drawn back into the horror when he re-investigated the events of 1989. He is certain ordinary people across the world are now under attack by something different, something more terrifying than demons and evil spirits.

From 1989 to 2004, Seven couples have lived at the house and 7 couples have left, many broken and separated. The house remains anonymous as the current owners have difficulty selling the property. G.L Davies hopes that he can one day buy back the house that broke him, not to occupy but to offer for scientific investigation. He has said one day when he achieves his goal, anyone who has a copy of Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest will be able to use their book as a key…a key to spending the night there. After reading Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest you may not be so willing to take up his most generous invite.  Whatever resides within those walls, God did not create it and the Devil fears it.

The courage it took to tell a story of the supernatural that drove one to the depths of depression is to be admired. G L Davies accounts are raw, real and riveting

Jeremy Scott, Into The Parabnormal Radio

A paralogian to the paranormal is like a theologian to theology. A paralogian should have a good understanding of paranormal history, theory, & application. It is clearly evident that G L Davies not only has a real solid understanding of the different kinds of paranormal activity & phenomena people may experience, but he also understands the impact in which that said phenomena can have on an individual’s psychological well being as well as the parasociological implications for the surrounding family unit. G L Davies is a true paralogian through & through. Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest is a testament to that statement & a real pleasure to digest. I enjoyed this immensely.

G L. Davies is up to his old tricks again in his latest book Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest. His nasty detailed and unimaginable horror scenarios will give some readers nightmares. I interviewed G. L Davies on my YouTube Show before and thoroughly enjoyed his previous work

Kevin Moore, The Kevin Moore Show

At Black Lotus, we pride ourselves in the exhaustive research we put into each of our episodes. Too often, people will not do the necessary legwork and research that is inherently required when investigating the paranormal. They simply parrot what others are saying and offer nothing new. This is why it was such a pleasure to discover G. L. Davies’ Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest. Written as an interview with the previous tenants of the house in which Davies once resided, it is not your typical haunted house story. While maintaining the integrity required of such research, Davies also writes with a human compassion that is rarely found among other paranormal explorers. Amazing work! We loved it!!

Damian Gray & Ralph Torlucci, Black Lotus Media Productions

G L. Davies has done it again! Having experienced his previous work I can only say that “Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest” is the natural progression to the level of master in development of suspense & the building of shock & disbelief, all leading to the realization that these horrific paranormal experiences truly DO exist!

Kat Hobson, Paranormal Experienced Radio

G L Davies masterfully brings the terror of living in a real haunted house to life again as he returns to the Horror of Haverfordwest!

Jason Bland, Paranormal Soup – LNM radio

I had the pleasure of interviewing G. L Davies on my Radio Show many years ago discussing his first book and my listeners and I were left in awe, but I must say that his current book Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest also did not disappoint. It gave me chills as read it and I was unable to put it down as I was led on a journey through this very twisted Paranormal tale. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the Paranormal and this book will definitely be put on my shows “MUST READ”List.

Christina George, Paranormal Connections Radio Show

Few of us will ever experience the paranormal in our own home. Where a place of sanctuary becomes strange and we fear for our own sanity. G L Davies takes us on a journey through the unknown with extraordinary clarity and humility. Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest will appeal to those interested in the paranormal, as well as those who want to know more about how such experiences can help us grow as a person. Life is for the living, not the dead.

Claire Elliot, The Claire Witch Files

“G L Davies is a masterful author who, once again, leads the reader through a gripping account of the paranormal. Genuinely worrying and chilling. This is a MUST read and the section on the rationale behind the haunting is worth the read alone.

Dave Dominguez , – Event Horizon online Radio show

A very creepy retelling of what happened in a haunted house when a married couple lived in it for a short period of time in the late 80’s -the early ’90s. I am a sceptic, but that does not mean that I could not suspend belief a few times while reading about the horrifying things that happened in that house…

Giulia Naccarato, NetGalley

I could not put this book down. I found the story to be creepy, scary and at times terrifying.

Jill Long, NetGalley

A creepy ghost story just right for this time of year as the nights draw in. Atmospheric and draws you into the story and the characters

Tracy Clarkson, NetGalley

Another creepy and scary book to read from GL Davies. This time it follows the story of another couple who lived in The House years before, the things they suffered and how it affected them. The tales are horrific and awful and I couldn’t imagine ever living through what they did. Having lived in Haverfordwest for 18 years of my life, I’m really grateful it wasn’t in this house….and I’m grateful I didn’t know it existed. This is a fantastic read if you want to read a horror that’s real life….if you’re brave enough to!

kels_reads, NetGalley

I have just finished reading this book. I still have chills up my spine. I liked the way the story was set out and really got a sense of the terror experienced by Dai and Anne. Whether you are a believer in the paranormal or not, this book is well worth a read.

  1. Farmer reported sheep killed in a field on Pembs coast today = 2 yr old Beulah sheep (large, robust) which did not show typical dog attack, too big for foxes that occasionally take lambs. The farmer said they suspects “the Big Cat”. My OH saw a panther like cat in a field in the same area about 10 years ago.
