Special report: Spectrophilia, Incubus attacks and Paranormal abuse

Thousands of terrified women are now reporting terrifying sexual abuse while they sleep as documented in the national U.K Press. Is there some insidious design at work or is there a more rational explanation? The Paranormal Chronicles investigates.

In July 2014 a book called Ghost sex: The Violation was published and focused on one woman’s alleged sexual abuse from not one but two paranormal entities. The book was a commercial success becoming #1 in the unexplained and supernatural charts on its first day of release but divided sceptics and believers alike with its brutal and honest depiction of a woman molested and abused by metaphysical attackers. Fifty shades of Ghost it was not.

Likened to the world renowned Entity case, investigators and researchers delved deep into the account and among-st the depravity and cruelty of the graphic depictions deemed that this was in fact only one spirit intruder not two as previously believed. The second creature was said to be an Incubus.

How and why one woman was the victim of such a terrifying ordeal is unknown at this time but Incubus attacks have been recorded throughout history and in recent years their activity has terrifyingly increased with thousands of woman coming forward with their accounts. An incubus is a demon in male form that, according to mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleepers, especially women, in order to engage in sexual activity with them. Its female counterpart is the succubus. An Incubus may pursue sexual relations with a woman in order to father a child, as in the legend of Merlin. Religious tradition holds that repeated sexual activity with an incubus or succubus may result in the deterioration of health, or even death.

This is the original waking terror that inspired the word “nightmare” which is old Anglo-Saxon for “a crushing sensation at night.”  The image above is Henry Fuseli’s Nightmare, painted in 1781, depicting an incubus demon sitting on a woman sufferer’s chest. Is this something you have experienced?

The obvious explanation would be that of Sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which a person, either falling asleep or awakening, temporarily experiences an inability to move, speak or react. It is a transitional state between wakefulness and sleep, characterized by complete muscle weakness. It is often accompanied by terrifying hallucinations such as an intruder in the room to which one is unable to react due to paralysis, and physical experiences (such as strong current running through the upper body). One hypothesis is that it results from disrupted REM sleep, which normally induces complete muscle atonia to prevent sleepers from acting out their dreams. Sleep paralysis has been linked to disorders such as narcolepsy, migraines, anxiety disorders, and obstructive sleep apnea; however, it can also occur in isolation. However the next paragraph may shock you.

In Ghost sex the Violation the woman involved may have fallen victim to sleep paralysis for the earlier sexual encounters but later on when she was anally abused, powerless on all fours while her teenage son was pinned to the wall by an invisible force and forced to watch could not be simply explained as sleep paralysis. So why are more and more of these terrifying reports emerging?

One theory presented by a researcher from Italy is that these Incubi, these demons find it easier to prey on us humans as we are now at a stage in Humanity where we have less spiritual and religious faith than ever before making us vulnerable and key targets for the creatures of hell. Another theory is less dramatic and is based on our social habits in that we are now living in a world of technology and communication and our habitual dedication to information and social networking has increased brain wave activity which in turn will lead to more sleep disorders and psychological issues.

Another more sinister notion is that these events are neither Demonic nor a sleep disorder but of Alien experimentation and visitation as documented in Whitley Strieber’s bestselling novel Communion.
