‘IT WAS A SIGN’ Care assistant, 34, says her dead Nan photo bombed her – and the ghost convinced her to dump her boyfriend

A CARE assistant claims she dumped her boyfriend of six years – when she was photobombed by her dead Nan. Carla Underwood, 34, was unsure about whether she wanted to walk away from her troubled relationship when Nan Irene Wilkins made a spooky appearance.
Cara, who claims she has a medium gift, had begged the universe for a sign about whether to ditch her boyfriend while out in a cocktail bar in Worcester earlier this month.
She was stunned when she looked back at a picture taken on the night that showed Irene, who died in 1982, photo bombing in the background. Carla, from Quedgeley, Gloucs, said: “At the time of the picture I was feeling lost. I was in a six-year relationship. I asked in my head if I should move on and to give me a sign. I was with my mum and stepdad, he does these re-enactments and had this hat, so we decided to try it on for a photograph. I didn’t see the picture until later when I was at my mum’s and I saw the face in it. I wanted a big sign but I wasn’t expecting that at all, it blew me away.”
“I know it was a sign – I needed that sign and I listened to it. I would say it’s a spirit.”
Spooked Carla spoke to medium brother Lee Thomas, who suggested the eerie face in the photo could actually be her late grandmother.
And when she shared the snap online, social media users were also shocked by the phenomenon.
Carla said: “People were commenting on the picture, saying ‘what the hell?’
“There was nobody stood behind me in the bar when the photo was taken. I don’t know what I’d say to people who would challenge it. You’ve got to experience something to believe. I keep the picture and look at it often. Some people will probably be freaked out by it, but I’m not anymore.”
Carla’s nan died when she was just a baby from pneumonia but now the care assistant says she feels like she is being “looked after”. And she claims the spooky occurrence is just a part of a series of life experiences that come with being born with the medium gift.
Carla explained: “I’ve always been a believer; I’m a very spiritual person. I use tarot cards, and what they have said always comes true.It was different when I was a kid as I used to find it all scary, but I’m a bit more at ease with it all now. I find it to be quite therapeutic and healing. I think if you are feeling lost, spirits will come through to help you.”
CREEPY CRAWLY MYSTERY Bizarre creature found squirming on the ground likened to ‘alien-life form’ by baffled witnesses

THIS bizarre creature baffled onlookers when it was spotted crawling across the ground in an unusual and creepy way.
Huang Meilan filmed the mysterious insect on rocks in Hsinchu, Taiwan, earlier this week.She said she was ”shocked” by the strange creepy crawly and had ”never seen anything like it before”.
Huang said: “I found this on the ground and it caught my eye. It was so strange and people said different things about it. But I wanted to know what it actually was.”
Huang appealed online and many suggested the brittle looking insect appeared to be several nematomorpha – commonly called “horsehair worms” – tangled together.
In extreme cases, they can grow up to two metres in length. The parasitic creatures become entwined while they use a host to breed. Others believed the creature was a ”mutant species” of stick insect – or even a form of alien life.
Passenger plane NEAR MISS with UFO just 200ft away over Brit airport

An official report has revealed the scare and investigators have been unable to establish what the flying object was. The pilot was attempting to land the plane and was on final approach to the airport in Scotland.
He described seeing an “orange light” just 200 feet away from the Airbus A320 – which can carry up to 186 passengers.
UK Airprox Board, which assesses aircraft near misses, confirmed the object was a UFO.The pilot of the plane was not forced to take any avoiding action of the object – which less than 200ft from the aircraft
It was described as travelling in the opposite direction of the Airbus by the plane’s captain.UFO sightings are often associated with claims of alien spacecraft by ET hunters.
However, the term UFO can refer to all number of items – and simply means it is not known what the flying object was.
The pilot of the Airbus attempting to land in Glasgow at 1.50am on May, said he believed the object was a drone.

Mum fears home is haunted by ghost leaving handprints on walls after learning new house holds dark secret

Joanne Gallagher believes a child ghost named ‘Benny’ is hanging around her home and says she now has a ‘bad feeling’ about the property
A mum-of-three fears her home is haunted by a child ghost who leaves black handprints on the walls after learning a dark secret about her property.
Joanne Gallagher says she thinks a spirit named ‘Benny’ is behind the strange goings-on at her new house after she found creepy black handprints on her daughter’s bedroom wall.She was cleaning eight-year-old daughter Aimee’s room while she was on holiday two weeks ago when Joanne spotted the ‘black dusty’ hand marks on the wall.
The 39-year-old claims it could not have been her daughter as she was on holiday at the time and instead believes it could be Benny, who tried to communicate with the family on numerous occasions.
The family have since learned that a young man hanged himself under the stairs before they moved in, leaving Joanne ‘freaked out’ and left with a ‘bad feeling’ about the property.
Joanne, from Coatbridge, Scotland, said: “It really freaked me out because they just appeared. On the Friday before Aimee was due home, I was cleaning her room when I noticed them. They were behind her door, but I would have noticed them if they had been there the day before because of their prominent position. Aimee was in Lanzarote with her father at the time and wasn’t due back until the next day. I have had past experiences with spirits. I suppose some people would say I’m sensitive to spirits – for example my grandma – and the house does have a general eeriness. I’ve looked into the house and things since then and my friend told me she knew the family living in the house before I moved in. Apparently their young son – he was in his late teens or early 20s – hanged himself under the stairs.”
“I think it must have been quite difficult for her to tell me that,” Joanne. “I can just feel a ghostly presence. The handprints were made of a black dusty substance. They wiped away easily and there hasn’t been anything there since. There’s no way I could have missed them earlier in the week.”
Joanne, a trainee accountant, claims this isn’t her first experience with the supernatural, and in fact, the whole house has been a hotbed of ghostly goings-on.
She said: “One night a few months ago, I was lying in my bed and my son was out at his girlfriend’s house. I was sleeping and I heard someone whispering ‘mummy, mummy’.Because I wasn’t fully awake, I thought it was my own child and the next minute I felt someone put pressure on my shoulder.
“I just shouted ‘please stop it, you’re scaring me’ and it stopped.
“It was a child’s voice speaking out to me and I automatically thought it was Aimee because I wasn’t properly awake. That’s how she wakes me up. I didn’t tell Aimee because I think it would have scared her to be honest. She’s only eight. She already sleeps in with my room at night and refuses to go in there apart from the daytime when she’s playing. I always try and keep the doors closed to keep the heat in, but Aimee won’t let me with her room. Once she was sleeping in my room when I heard her cry saying she had seen a lady standing in the corner.”
“We actually have evidence of a woman with black hair as if peering around the top of our stairs. “The house has quite a big open space at the top of the stairs and the kids claim they’ve seen a woman with dark hair peering from there. On another night, my daughter woke up crying saying she had seen a little boy in her dream and his name was Ben. On the same night I took the picture of the handprints, a lady gave me a private reading and said she felt there was a little boy in my home named Benny. It’s a bit too much of a coincidence for me now. There’s a general bad feeling and I think Aimee feels it too.”
Even as a teenager, Joanne was haunted by her recently deceased grandmother and now she wonders if the old lady might have returned to meet her daughter.
Joanne said: “I would say my connection with the afterlife goes right back to my childhood. I’ve always had a feeling of something being there.
“After my grandma died, she was the last spirit I’d seen. I was 15 at the time. My son has experiences with spirits as well. He had a few happenings in there. One time the lights went out and he heard a voice saying ‘Shaun I’m down here’.”

A mysterious creature has been filmed poking its head out of the water during a Queensland river cruise. The unidentified animal was spotted during a Solar Whisper Daintree River Crocodile and Wildlife Tour on Tuesday. After staff posted the footage on social media suggestions have taken off about the beast’s identity and range from a mussel to a ‘miniature whale’.
David White, the owner of Solar Whisper cruises filmed the creature during the cruise, before uploading his footage to Facebook Tuesday morning.
‘Martin (the director of Days of the Daintree) is adding a little mystery on set. He gave me no clues and I have no idea,’ he wrote in his post. Either a miniature whale, a mussel or an alien. One minute he was there the next he was gone.’
The video shows the head of an animal, with what seems to be an eye visible, as it pokes out of a mud pool at the mouth of the river. The creature remains above the surface for a few seconds, before slipping below and disappearing. The water was believed to be a shallow tidal pool, with staff stating that a crocodile had been sitting in the same area earlier that day.
Since it was uploaded the post has been viewed more than 1,400 times, with users offering up some interesting and unusual possibilities as to its identity.
‘Could it be a lungfish?’ one person commented while another suggested it may be a ‘bivalve of some type’.
Others called it an ‘underwater monster’ and the tour group’s very own ‘Daintree monster, like Nessie!’
Queensland is renowned for it’s mystery creatures with reports of Yowies, Bunyips and giant cats all notoriously sighted in the state.
Sightings of suspected UFO caught on film across Cornwall
People have been taking to social media with startling footage of what looks suspiciously like a UFO over various spots in Cornwall.
Over the last couple of days the strange, shimmering black object has been spotted over Truro city centre, Carluddon clay tip, Fistral beach in Newquay, over the A30, above Roche Rock and by a surfer above the sea off the Cornish coast.
The first to spot it was surfer Kiefer Krishnan, who caught it on his Go-Pro camera, which he posted on his Instagram account on Monday.
Photographer Shayne House spotted the weird object, which appears to disappear and rematerialise, over the A30, also on Monday. He filmed it for A30 and even managed a close-up. He declared on Twitter: “What the?! Is this an alien spacecraft over the A30?”
Harry Wild, who works in food marketing, was the next to upload footage of the unexplained object. She saw it over Fistral beach on Monday and asked on Twitter is anyone else had seen it. Many people commented it looked like a swarm of birds or insects.
There were three more sightings on Tuesday. The first was by Trudi, from Kent, who posted footage over Roche Rock, near St Austell, on Instagram. She wrote: “What on Earth is this in the sky? It looks like some kind of craft to me, has anyone else seen this?
Cornwall Live has approached various agencies about these sightings but no one has any answers. We then realised that the Eden Project launches its new Journey Into Space attraction on Thursday, July 27, and wondered if these supposed UFOs had anything to do with that.
We contacted a spokesman for Eden, who replied: “It’s true we have a galaxy of ways to tell the story of space at Eden this summer. To coin a phrase … ‘The truth is out there’.
Shock PICTURE shows black ring UFO hovering METRES above beachgoers

A MYSTERIOUS UFO was spotted flying over a beach – just metres over the heads of terrified onlookers.Strange footage emerged online of a object appearing in the sky over Jinshitan beach in the city of Dalian, China.
The video shows the object floating among the clouds before disappearing. Swimmers and beachgoers can be seen observing the ring as it flies above them.
In the video, onlooker Jing Qi said: “There is an unidentified flying object appearing in the sky. Its oval shape is expanding and it’s coming towards us closer and closer.”
Before disappearing, the UFO-like ring changed its shape into a parallelogram.Following the publication of the video, social media users began to speculate on the possible origin of the object on China’s version of Twitter, Weibo.
Local residents said the ring had been caused by special visual effects from a performance that had just taken place.
Disappointingly for UFO hunters, a spokesperson from a local playground later confirmed the ring was a flame effect from a show organised for the public.
They explained that the smoke from the special effect manifested as a floating ring.
Stephen Hawking’s mission to find alien life detects mystery signals
A mission to explore intelligent alien life in the universe has recorded some mysterious signals coming from a galaxy three billion light years away, according to an Indian-origin scientist working on the ambitious project co-founded by Stephen Hawking.
Vishal Gajjar is part of the team working under the Breakthrough Listen project – set up by Hawking, one of the world’s best-known scientists, and Russian billionaire Yuri Milner – to discover the truth about the universe.
The latest fast radio bursts (FRBs) prove their equipment is working well and ready to pick up signs of life if they exist.
“We really have no idea about where they come from,” Gajjar, one of the scientists from the University of California Berkeley Research Centre, told The Daily Telegraph.
He noted: “If some form of life would like to produce a signal that is detectable to another civilisation this could be a way to do it, but I don’t think they are coming from intelligent civilisations.
“There are more theories than the number of sources. We have opened more questions than answers. As we do more study we find more weird things,” he said.
Breakthrough Listen is a USD 100-million global astronomical initiative launched in 2015 by Hawking and Miller and has teams around the world using their telescopes to look for evidence of life. The initial 10-year programme will survey the 1,000,000 closest stars to Earth, scanning the entire galactic plane of the Milky Way.
Beyond our galaxy, it will listen for messages from the 100 closest galaxies at 10 billion different frequencies. Announcing the project at the time at a press conference in London, Hawking said it was time to commit to finding the answer to life beyond Earth.
“Somewhere in the universe intelligent life may be watching the lights of ours aware of what they mean,” he said.
Explanations for the latest signals detected range from rotating neutron stars with extremely magnetic fields to energy sources used by extra-terrestrial civilisations to power spacecraft.
Whatever they are they left their galaxy when our Solar System was just two billion years old and life was just getting going on Earth.
