Sian Jameson, 26, from Shropshire, told how she recognised Robert, who lived over 100 years ago, from a painting in the house she was staying in when he appeared next to her in bed – and she sobbed when he left as she’d ‘fallen in love’ Sian Jameson, 26, a writer from Shropshire, told how she recognized “Robert” when he floated into her bed from a painting in the house she was staying in.
She’d just moved into the rented property in Aberystwyth, Wales, from north London and had noticed his handsome portrait, dated 1820, hanging above the mantelpiece. After their saucy, spiritual encounter, Sian said she “sobbed” when he left as she’d “fallen in love”.
She explained how she’d moved to the area after splitting up from a long-term boyfriend.
“Everywhere I went reminded me of my ex,” she said. “I needed a fresh start.”
The remote cottage was built in the 16th century and was let fully furnished, complete with books and paintings. She recalled: “It was great – no distractions – just me, the trees and the sky.
“I was paying my rent by doing bits of copyrighting and because I didn’t want for much in the countryside, I managed OK.I enjoyed the peace: after a long relationship, being on my own was quite exhilarating. I started to wonder whether I’d ever want a man in my life again.”
Sian told how she was shocked when she started having sexy dreams but put it down to her libido “expressing itself” while she was sleeping. “I’d wake up thinking I was still in a relationship and was quite relieved to find myself alone!” she said.
But one night Sian experienced something quite different. “A few months after I’d moved in, I woke early one morning to find a dark-haired, very good-looking young man lying next to me,” she recalled.
“He was fully clothed – in a loose white shirt, a neck scarf and old-fashioned breeches. He had a kind of shimmer to him as if he was behind a fluttering voile curtain. I told myself I was dreaming and rolled away from him. As I faced the wall, I slowly realized I wasn’t asleep and, suddenly I was frozen with fear. I felt a hand on my waist but the touch was strange – light and cool.”
Sian said she knew instinctively that he was a ghost and recognised him instantly as the man from the painting.
Within seconds, she told how they began having sex.
““He was very gentle and stroked my body tenderly,” she explained.
“During the lovemaking, I sensed all kinds of things about him – his name was Robert and he lived over 100 years ago. We didn’t speak – it was as if he was communicating with me telepathically. His body was soft and light. Even when he moved on top of me, pressing down, he felt almost weightless. It was very strange, but the sex was amazing!”
Their encounter lasted for around an hour, and when Sian woke up, having fallen asleep in his arms, her ghostly lover had vanished. She admitted: “I was totally perplexed about what had happened. In fact, I started to wonder whether it had happened at all.
“In the end, I told myself it was just a very vivid dream and put it to the back of my mind.”
Spiritualist Sian has always believed in ghosts and claims to have seen apparitions before – but nothing like this had ever happened. A few days later she said her paranormal lover returned.
“Again, he appeared in the morning, we made love again but this time, afterward, I watched him get up, get dressed and leave the room,” she recalled. “ I was expecting to hear his footsteps on the wooden stairs, but there was no sound. I watched him through the open bedroom door and saw him kind of fade as he approached the top of the stairs.”
She got up and followed, but he disappeared.
“He appeared one more time after that,” Sian said. “It was night time and I was just drifting off to sleep. All of a sudden, the duvet slid off me and I could feel a cool hand running up my thigh, under my night-shirt. I sobbed after he’d left that night. I guess I had fallen in love.”
Psychotherapist Tina Radziszewicz said: “Although the experience of making love with a ghost felt very real to Sian, the ‘spectre sex’ always happened either early in the morning or late at night, while she was just waking up or just nodding off.”It’s well known that particular types of hallucination occur during the transition from wakefulness to sleep (hypnogogic hallucinations) or from sleep to wakefulness (hypnopompic ones).”Such hallucinations can be extremely vivid and bizarre, and can include tactile, visual and auditory.”These hallucinations are more common in young adults and women, and certain other drugs (prescribed or illegal) make them more likely.”Like dreams, the subject of a hypnogogic or hypnopompic hallucination can often be of something that’s been on your mind.”Stress, anxiety, depression and trauma can make people more prone to this form of hallucination.”Given that Sian’s feelings after breaking up with her boyfriend were so strong that she felt the need to leave London and isolate herself in the country, that suggests she was struggling with a lot of difficult emotions.”Finally, Sian says ghostly ‘Robert’ was a gentle, tender lover. After a bad breakup, who doesn’t feel a strong need to be soothed and cared for? I believe her dream lover represented the fulfillment of that wish.”
But parapsychologists believe that some ghosts do have the power to get quite physical.
Ghost-hunter G.L. Davies, who wrote the book Ghost Sex: The Violation, said: “No-one knows what motivates ghosts to have sex with the living.”Are we like lab rats to them? Is there some kind of battle for our souls? Are these ghost demons trying to break us?”Who knows? One thing’s for sure though, the people who experience it are certainly not dreaming.”I spoke to many people – men and women – for my book and some of their stories are pretty shocking. They’re all convinced the sex actually happened and wasn’t imagined. And who am I to contradict them?”

THE barreling asteroid dubbed Oumuamua has baffled scientists and conspiracy theorist alike. But has NASA found signs of alien activity on the mysterious object?
Initial scans of the mysterious cigar-shaped object have found no signs of extraterrestrial life but scientists are still scanning to find evidence of its supposed artificial origin.
The breakthrough announcement was made by scientists at the Breakthrough Listen Initiative who have blasted the asteroid with radio signals from the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia, US.
Oumuamua caught the attention of astronomers across the globe due its unprecedented shape, sparking fears it was an alien spaceship from beyond the solar system. It was given a name which in Hawaiian means “a messenger from afar arriving first”.
The mysterious object is roughly 400m wide, about 10-times as long and “unlike any asteroid in our solar system”, NASA have said.
The American space agency added: “While its elongated shape is quite surprising, and unlike asteroids seen in our solar system, it may provide new clues into how other solar systems formed.” But on Thursday scientists announced initial scans of four-bands of radio waves have failed to produce evidence of alien life – but the search continues.
Andrew Siemion, Director of Berkeley SETI Research Center, said: “It is great to see data pouring in from observations of this novel and interesting source.
“Our team is excited to see what additional observations and analyses will reveal”.
If researchers were to pick up any radio signals from the alien object the evidence would be monumental, agreed Avi Loeb, professor of astronomy at Harvard University.
But the expert remained grounded in his belief that Oumuamua is still most likely nothing more than a peculiarly-shaped asteroid.
He said: “We are most likely not to find anything, but it is worth checking steadily our fishing hooks. We will keep searching for artificial signals from Oumuamua or any other interstellar object that will be discovered in the future.”
The first batch of scans ran from 8.45pm GMT on Wednesday, December 13 to 2.45am GMT on Thursday, December 14 (3:45pm to 9:45pm ET). The Virginia telescope’s scans spanned billions of individual radio channels across the 1 to 12 GHz range in hopes of detecting signs of life. A grand total of over 90 TB of raw data were collected which will take a considerable amount of time to analyze.
But Mr. Siemion remained hopeful that a new observational time window between December and 15 and December 16 could lead to some new exciting discoveries.
He said: “The team has just met and reviewed our results from all four bands observed last night and we don’t see anything continuously emitting from Oumuamua.
“We’re now digging into some of the intermittent candidates, and trying some new machine learning-based techniques we have been working on.
“We expect our next observation window to be scheduled for December 15 or 16 when we should get a view of additional ‘phases’ of Oumuamua as it rotates.”
But despite the disappointing result, conspiracists remain hopeful that Oumuamua is direct proof of a UFO trying to reach out for contact.
Penn State University associate professor Jason Wright, who personally does not believe Oumuamua to be alien-made, happily embellished and engaged in some of the conspiracy theories. He speculated the object’s tumbling motion resembled that of a broken-down spacecraft lost in the darkness of space.
On his online blog, he wrote: “Such derelict craft would if they are not traveling so fast that they escape the Galaxy, eventually ‘thermalize’ with the stars and end up drifting around like any other interstellar comet or asteroid.
“In fact, since they (presumably) no longer have attitude control, one would expect that they would eventually begin to tumble, and if they are very rigid that tumbling might distinguish them from ordinary interstellar asteroids. And in fact, just because their propulsion is broken doesn’t mean that their radio transmitters would be broke.”
Astronomers have already cataloged some 750,000 asteroids, but Oumuamua has fuelled speculation by being the only one to originate far from beyond our galactic neighborhood.
In fact, NASA has suggested that the alien asteroid has wondered through the Milky Way for hundreds of millions of years before chancing upon our solar system.
Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate said: “For decades we’ve theorized that such interstellar objects are out there, and now – for the first time – we have direct evidence they exist.
“This history-making discovery is opening a new window to study the formation of solar systems beyond our own.”
TIME did not exist, according to one strange account from a person who was declared dead and brought back from the brink.
People have been taking to the Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) to share their experiences of what life is like after death and the results are astonishing.
One person, who goes by the name of Fawn R, writes on the website that she died from an alcohol overdose. In her experience, “sound and time did not exist” and had flashbacks of all her life in a period which seemed to go on forever but only lasted three minutes.
She wrote: “I became my thoughts and memories floating in a black void. I had no body. I could think and have memories of my life. I was completely and frighteningly alone.
There was no sound and time did not exist. Snapshots of my life floated by but they had lost all their meaning to me.
“I had to let all emotional attachment go from the individual people and memories, but I had a general feeling of being incredibly sad and very much alone. At one point, I wondered how long I had been in the void. I could have been floating there for 1000 years or maybe it was three minutes, but it seemed to me for about a 1000 years.
“When I woke up in the morning, I didn’t just wake up. I was aware of my consciousness rushing at light speed, back into my body and I woke with a start. My first thought was astonishment to be alive and to have left the void. I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked and I felt terrified.”
However, some researchers state this is a normal phenomenon and not necessarily a sign that heaven is real.
Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, told a recent Oz Talk: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.
“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them. They often say that they didn’t want to come back (to life) in many cases, it is so comfortable, and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.
“A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them. They can hear things and record all conversations that are going on around them.”
Dr. Parnia says there are scientific explanations for these reactions, and says seeing people is not evidence of the afterlife, but more likely the brain just scanning itself as a survival technique.
He said thanks to modern technology and science “death does not have to be limited to philosophy and religion, but it can be explored through science.”
A JAPANESE firm is looking to bring people back from the dead after it released an augmented reality (AR) app that allows one to see deceased people at their graves.
Tombstone engraving company Ryoshin Sekizai has released an AR called Suma Tomb that places the image of a dead person at a ‘virtual gravesite’.
When one points their phone with the app open at the ‘virtual grave’, a 2D image of the dead person pops up at the geo-locked site, which can be anywhere of your choice and not just a graveyard.
The image can also come with a message from the deceased person.
In a promotional image, an elderly couple says: “Take care of yourself. We’re always watching over you.”
Yoshiyuki Katori, president of Ryoshin Sekizai, said he was inspired to make the app following the death of his uncle.
He told The Japan Times: “I wondered how comforting it would be if he could talk to me at his grave, with messages like ‘How are you doing?’ and ‘Hang in there’.”
The future possibilities that will come from AR seem endless.
Sam Jackson, Digital Creative at Burberry, told Express.co.uk: “The tools today are basic in comparison to what we will be able to do – to gain users trust in a new technology, there has to be mass appeal. This will come from two avenues.
“Updates in hardware – Taking AR out of the phone into a more seamless environment. Imagine the Augmenting glasses lens, that fit into your styling pair of frames, able to access all of the augmenting capabilities that a phone can do now, and more – or even contact lenses that augment directly over your eyes.
“Updates in software – Imagine being able to have large scale live events or music gigs held within your living room, or geo-tagging artwork to places around your hometown that can’t be seen without a device. Facebook and Snapchat are experimenting now, but haven’t opened it up to the public yet. Eventually even being able to have feature-length movies play out on the table in front of you!”
A MAN has posted a video online claiming it is “the only proof of Bigfoot” – but there’s a catch.
In the clip, Peter Caine, from New York, reveals what he says is the head of “Sasquatch” – a large, hairy creature from American folklore.
On camera, Peter examines the head of the beast, claiming that his dad, Mike, had captured it in 1952 during a hunt.
He added that since then, the 120lb head had been stored in a freezer.
But fear not, it may not be the mythical ape-like terror after all.
Peter, who is a dog trainer and comedian, has a history of posting comical videos and viewers were quick to debunk the Bigfoot theory.
One said: “Oh come on… people falling for this crap? At least you’re getting lots of views. That’s the idea is isn’t it?”
While another admired his “creation”, saying: “Your artistic skills always amaze me. I love your bigfoot videos, they’re great!”
The video was uploaded yesterday to YouTube on Peter’s channel with the title “Bigfoot head, frozen since 1953. The only proof in existence of Sasquatch”.
Racking up over 27,000 hits, others were still in amazement with some thinking this is finally the proof needed to solve the mystery of Bigfoot.
And Peter himself was adamant of the head’s legitimacy.
“Yes I do joke around, but this is real,” he said
